Since 2005, APRIL GROUP has been supporting the association "Sport dans la ville" (sport in cities). The association works to promote the social inclusion of children living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods through sport. From taking part in the football tournaments organised by the association to our partnership with Sport dans la Ville, we make a lasting contribution to the integration of young people into working life. Half-day introduction sessions have thus been organised at APRIL Assurances and APRIL Solutions. Our group also made a financial contribution to the creation of a campus for the association in Lyon Vaise, which opened in September 2007. Under the partnership set up with the group, a sponsoring system has been set up involving professionals. At APRIL, some fifteen voluntary sponsors have thus taken young people under their wing to give them insight into working life and the running of a company. They also follow the career plans of the sponsored person. In addition to these initiatives, alongside “Sport dans la ville”, we are hoping to take things further by providing training for these young people, a project aimed at helping them find work or set up their own business.

We organise these business discovery visits because we believe it is vital for these young people to discover the business world. We show them what it’s like inside a company as they often have very little idea. They are therefore able to discover the jobs people do at APRIL. I’m sure that, as a result, some of them will take an interest in these occupations and think about the training they could do to go into these lines of work.
